Sohan turned the age of thirty-two and faced societal pressure for marriage, a traditional concept in India. Upon reaching twenty - eight, “you are late.” Eventually, his family searched for a suitable bride for him, resulting in an arranged marriage with Rihana.
His family was extremely pleased with this marriage, as Pandit ji marked a stamp, “This marriage will be highly successful, 29 gunas are matching along with other perspectives.” Sohan, however, was distant from this illusion, he was satisfied only in being free from societal pressure.
Sohan was highly ambitious and had a strong focus on his career. He had set a goal for himself to earn a salary of over sixty thousand before getting married in order to settle in the city. However, he found himself trapped in the concept of marriage with a salary of only forty-two thousand, which became a major cause of concern. Living in the city in a rented house with this salary proved to be extremely challenging. He not only had to bear the expenses of two individuals in the city, but also had the responsibility of supporting his parents back in the village. These thoughts overwhelmed his mind.
Sohan dedicated himself to life’s running race as a manager in an export house, working tirelessly from morning till evening. Despite the demanding working hours and high pressure, he found his salary to be lacking. Although he often has to stay late to complete his assigned tasks, he was expected to join early in the morning for daily reporting.
However, he successfully balanced his married life with professional commitments. The initial month of their marriage was filled with love and understanding. But unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse in the second month. Sohan’s work - related frustration began to affect his relationship with Rihana.
Sohan’s stress shifted towards Rihana, he began arguing with her over every single activity. Before he knew it, these disagreements turned into fights, ultimately leading them to the brink of divorce.
Rihana found herself increasingly frustrated with Sohan’s behavior and had no desire to continue this relationship. Sohan frequently acknowledged that his actions were hurtful towards her, yet he rationalized himself by blaming her misunderstandings for everything that went wrong.
Before making a decision about the fate of their relationship, she received the saddest news that her father was in critical condition. Sohan drove Rihana to her residence and headed to his office due to limited holidays. He had already used up his leaves for their marriage.
Sohan’s schedule was already packed, but it became more hectic due to the additional household chores. He woke up early in the morning for breakfast, somehow managed lunch and dinner from outside. He wasn’t used to doing household chores. That day, he missed Rihana for the first time.
The next morning, his frustration level increased as the milk once again overflowed and spread across the gas. Annoyed by the unpredictable behavior of the milk, no matter how patiently he waited for it to boil, it never seemed to reach that point. However, if he moved for a moment, it would suddenly boil over and create a mess.
The following day, he planned and patiently watched the milk until it reached the boiling point. While he observed the milk, a sudden realization kicked in his mind- he was remarkably similar to the milk. “Whenever Rihana shared anything with me, I always boiled unpredictably just like milk boiling instantly. I also had the option to turn the flame lower in my life and could foster understanding between us.”
Sohan experienced immense embarrassment upon realizing that he had consistently treated Rihana harshly and avoided her.
Rihana was surprised by the changes in sohan’s nature when she returned home after eight days. Sohan sincerely apologized to her for all his past actions and resumed household chores. Rihana was shocked by this unexpected transformation in sohan’s behavior.
She was excited to learn the potential of personal nature within just one week. She inquired with Sohan about the journey of transformation in his behavior. Sohan shared the entire story about MILK.
Their laughter filled the air as they embarked on a joyful journey together for the rest of their lives.
